Splitgate is currently in open beta for PC, but has yet to release an iOS version. So far there are no plans to add crossplay or cross progression features into the game – which makes sense considering Splitgate’s unique gameplay style.
Splitgate is a new game that features crossplay and cross progression. Splitgate has been released on the PlayStation 4 and PC.
Splitgate has only been on the air for a short time, but because to its unusual idea, it has already carved out a place for itself. With a diverse arsenal of weaponry and advanced moves like Triple-Portaling, now is the best time to get in and hone your abilities while the game is still in its early stages. Of course, playing a multiplayer shooter with pals is the ideal way to enjoy it. Of course, if you’re all playing on separate platforms, this might be tricky. Thankfully, most recent FPS games have started to use cross-play to allow players to play across platforms, but does Splitgate feature cross-play? How about some cross-progression?
Is there any crossplay in Splitgate?
Splitgate is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. Crossplay is available on all of these platforms, allowing you to play with anybody regardless of their device. Because of the open matching pool, the concurrent player count has remained constantly high, resulting in very fast matchmaking times.
Is Splitgate coming to the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices?
Splitgate is not expected to be released on Nintendo Switch or mobile devices at this time. If you consider the porting timeframe for more current multiplayer games like Apex Legends, it may take anywhere from 1-2 years for it to get on the Switch after its original release. The smartphone version is a different situation, and depending on development priorities, it might arrive sooner or later.

In any event, if Splitgate comes to either platform, there’s a fair likelihood that, depending on performance, a more restricted cross-play experience will be attached. To avoid being swamped out by the more performance-heavy PC option, console-only pools for mobile and Switch players may be introduced. Of course, this is just conjecture, and if news of a port arises, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Depending on the platform you’re using, you could discover that having crossplay enabled makes things more difficult. Alternatively, you may find that your pals have switched to the same platform as you, and you’d want to play in the same environment. You do, however, have the option to disable crossplay in such scenario.

The good news is that, since crossplay is currently available and a standard ID system is already in place, it might be deployed at a later date. Hopefully, with all of that infrastructure in place, it won’t take long for Season 1 to be announced, and we’ll see it pop up.
