With the NFL season set to kick off soon, some of the league’s players are on pace to challenge all-time records. Tom Brady is in great shape for this year with an 8 touchdown pass record within reach and if Lamar Jackson can continue his recent form he’ll break Joe Montana’s single game passing yards record by midseason.
The “nfl trade deadline” is the day where teams are allowed to make trades with other teams. This year, Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson and others on pace to challenge some big NFL records.

It’s in the nature of records to be broken. By the completion of the 2021 season, four of the most important season-based records in the NFL might be revised.
While the 2021 season will have 17 games instead of the previous 16 games, several records may be broken even without the additional game on the schedule.
It’s no surprise that Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is on the list, considering he’s attempting to break Peyton Manning’s record for most passing yards in a season.

It’s not just about offensive recordings though. Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns is aiming for Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record.
Let’s look at the four records that may be shattered:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady
Most throwing yards in a season (record)
Peyton Manning holds the current record (5,477 yards in 2013)
Brady’s current average number of yards per game is 331.2.
314 yards on average are required to break it.
Total yardage expected: 5,631
According to ESPN Stats & Information analysis, Brady stands in the top two in the league in overall QBR, passing yards per game, and touchdown passes thus far in 2021.
In the first eight games of the season, he has passed for 2,650 yards, including a season high of 432 yards against the Los Angeles Rams.
Brady, a 22-year veteran, has the potential to create new personal bests this season. He passed for 5,235 yards and 327 yards per game in 2011. Brady scored 25 touchdowns in the first half of this season, and he’s on pace to break his own record of 50 touchdowns set in 2007.

Most receiving yards in a season (record)
Calvin Johnson holds the current record (1,964 yards in 2012)
Kupp currently has a yardage average of 113.2 per game.
To break it, you’ll need an average of 118.1 yards.
Total expected: 1,924 yards
Kupp has become the go-to receiver for Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the team is 7-2 so far this season. Kupp and Jerry Rice are the only two receivers in NFL history to have 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in the first nine games.
Kupp, a third-round draft selection by the Rams in 2017, has a league-high 74 receptions for 1,019 yards and 10 touchdowns.
This week’s duel between Kupp and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel on Monday Night Football will be the first in NFL history between two players averaging at least 110 receiving yards per game in Week 7 or later. Kupp’s intended allocation may alter. The Rams announced the signing of free agency receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday.

Most running yards by a quarterback in a season
Lamar Jackson holds the current record (1,206 yards in 2019)
Jackson’s current average number of yards per game is 71.
To break it, you’ll need an average of 70.8 yards.
Total expected: 1,207 yards
Jackson’s 2021 season is shaping up to be quite similar to his previous two. He broke Michael Vick’s record for most running yards by a quarterback in a season with 1,206 yards in 2019. Jackson is the first quarterback in NFL history to carry for 1,000 yards in two consecutive seasons.
Jackson has the most running yards on his squad with 639 yards through nine games. Baltimore is 6-3 and in first place in the AFC North, and Jackson has scored a touchdown in 45 consecutive games, the longest current stretch in the league.
Jackson established an NFL record for quarterbacks with his 12th career 100-yard running game (including the playoffs) in Week 9’s victory against the Minnesota Vikings. Jackson passed Vick, who had 11 such games in his 13-year NFL career, in his fourth season. Jackson and Vick each had ten 100-yard running performances during the regular season.
Here’s Lamar Jackson slicing up Miami’s defense in Week 1 of the 2019 season, in celebration of Dolphins week for the Ravens.
Jackson would go on to throw for 324 yards and five touchdowns on 17-of-20 passing, guiding Baltimore to a 59-10 win. twitter.com/Sb7Y60KS7z

Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett, DE
Most sacks in a single season
Michael Strahan currently holds the record (22.5 sacks in 2001)
Garrett now has an average of 1.3 sacks per game.
1.3 sacks on average are required to break it.
Total sacks expected: 22
Garrett, one of the finest — if not the greatest — pass rushers in the AFC, leads the league in sacks (12), tackles for loss (12), and sack yards (12). (66).
Garrett has already eclipsed his sack total from the previous season (10) and matching his sack total from the previous season (10) only nine games into the 2021 season.
After all, there’s a reason Garrett dressed up as the “Sack Reaper” for Halloween.
Myles Garrett tacks on another sack to his tally.
He currently has a total of 12 for the season. #Browns
