The game’s developers announced the biome rework, which will introduce new areas and make it easier for players to explore. It will also be more difficult for players to find each other in the open world thanks to a new system of “pings.”
Albion Online is a game that has been in development for some time. The last big update was the biome rework which will change the look of the game.
Perhaps “need” is a harsh term, but I for one am excited to see what Sandbox Interactive is doing with Albion Online right now. It’s called Lands Awakened, and it’ll be released in the second part of November.
The studio announced today that the next major content update for Albion Online, Lands Awakened, would bring significant upgrades, enhancements, and new features to open-world gaming in Albion. It aims to “bring open-world gameplay back to Albion Online” with “varied and interesting PvE” and “spontaneous, small- and mid-size open-world PvP,” as well as better loot and prizes. One of the ways it’ll accomplish that is revamp the game’s 15 sub-biomes, increasing their aesthetic variety and originality while also making rampaging over them more enjoyable. Mountain zones will still appear like mountain zones, but their “intensity and danger” will grow as they go through the tiers. SBI also intends to reorganize the zone structure.
“We’ve set a goal for ourselves to totally redesign all of Albion Online’s open-world layouts, with the following two objectives: Make world traversal more simple and entertaining [and] enable players with various playstyles to take advantage of map layouts. These objectives will be achieved in the following ways: improving map clarity, removing random cluttering aspects, developing memorable themes for maps that are simple to remember and read [and] creating strategic choke points through new terrain designs that seem natural within each biome.”
Of course, there’s a movie featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the new biomes, and at the conclusion, SBI’s Robin Henkys promises more to come, including new music, PvP and PvE gameplay, and prizes.
Albion Online is a new upcoming MMO that has been in the works for a while. The albion the open world quest will be released soon and it will allow players to see just how pretty the game will be after its biome rework.
